Our goal
Our goal is for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium, describe how to make web content easier to use for people with disabilities, and for everyone else too.
We treat WCAG 2.2 AA as a target we work toward. We are not claiming that the site currently meets every part of it, and our review is ongoing.
What the site does today
The site was built with the following features in place:
- Keyboard access: links, buttons and form fields can be reached and used with a keyboard alone
- Visible focus: the element you are on with the keyboard is clearly marked
- Reduced motion: when your device asks for reduced motion, animations and videos stop
- Text alternatives: meaningful images have text descriptions for screen readers
- Labeled illustrations: captions identify illustrative images as not being the company's projects
- Color contrast: sufficient contrast between text and background is a design target across the site
- System fonts: text uses the fonts already on your device, so nothing extra has to load before you can read
Reduced motion in practice
Many devices let you ask for less motion in their accessibility or display settings. When that setting is on, this site stops its animations and videos, so pages hold still while you read.
Images and captions
Images that carry meaning have text alternatives so their content is available to screen reader users. Because the images on this site are illustrative, their captions say so in words, which keeps that information available whether or not you can see the picture.
